Zoely

estradiol hemihydrate, nomegestrol acetate (1,5/2,5MG) for Contraception / birth control

Zoely worked great as a birth control pill, but without even realising it at first, it started to change me. I felt depressed for the first few months, which luckily went away. My libido was very low. My brain felt fuzzy like I wasn't really paying full attention.

estradiol hemihydrate, nomegestrol acetate (1,5/2,5MG) for Contraception / birth control

Love love love this pill! I was on Levlen ED for 6 months and it was the worst time of my life - literally an emotional cyclone of uncontrollable hell with breakthrough bleeding and lowered libido. I then went to Yaz, which was a little better on the mood swings comparatively - libido was the same. And then my Gyno recommend Zoely and oh, HOT DAMMMMMMMN! So so so grateful I ignored the bad revi...

Cerazette

desogestrel (0,075MG) for Contraception / birth control

Only been taking for a week. Have been so snappy and angry. Instantly regret being mean and then do it straight away after like I have literally no control of myself or my temper. Im usually very chilled out and never get angry so its 100% the pill. Also never had so many spots looked in the mirror today and hardly recognised myself. Not taking this horrid drug ever again. Reader be warned!

desogestrel (0,075MG) for Contraception / birth control

I have been taking this pill for close to a year now. It has been great, no side effects, worked as it was supposed to. Until July. Apparently some pills are too light for me, they don't control my hormones as they should, I had this with yasminelle and now with Cerazette. I am prescribed heavier pills cause these ligher ones just don't stop the bleeding. I was bleeding for the whole month exce...

medroxyprogesterone acetate (150MG/ML) for Contraception / birth control

I am 16 and decided to go on the depo to fix some very painful and nauseating periods, as well as contraception. I had it in January. I am still bleeding because of it today. Everything was okay for about a month, and then I got some spotting. I was fine with that as I thought it would stop after a little bit... boy was I wrong... the spotting turned into bleeding. I have been getting increasi...

desogestrel (0,075MG) for Contraception / birth control

it's the worst medication I've ever taken, it left me so depressed I actually attempted suicide. I was only on the pill for 3 weeks and it was the biggest mistake of my life. It almost cost me my relationship too. Thankfully I'm on the mend

desogestrel (0,075MG) for Contraception / birth control

I was on this pill for around 11 months. Side effects to begin with weren't too bad, a few headaches here and there and some slight bloating and slight weight gain. Weight evened back out after 3 months. I had 2 periods for the duration of taking these pills and both times were very light and lasted 3 or 4 days. 6 months into taking these, I developed a post nasal drip, I'm not sure if ...

desogestrel (0,075MG) for Contraception / birth control

I have been taking this pill for birth control, I cannot fault it for it's purpose, I haven't become pregnant. However, I started this pill in March, had a very painful and prolonged period about 3 weeks after, it stopped for a week and then it came back and has not stopped. It is now July and not a day has gone by where I have not been bleeding / spotting. I have found my sex drive is almost c...

desogestrel (0,075mg) for contraception / birth control

Had a horrible 2 years on Cerazette. Dr suggested it when my previous pill was discontinued, within a couple of months of starting it husband told me I was being weird, I put it down to other external factors. Put on 2 stone, had no libido whatsoever, and depressive symptoms so bad I was on the verge of seeing the Dr for help, but eventually after a Google of Cerazette found many other reviews ...

Yasmin

ethinylestradiol, drospirenone (20ug/3mg) for contraception / birth control

I used the cheap version of Yasmin, ethinylestradiol drospirenone. I felt less happy when taking this pill. I also took it for years. The last year I started suffering from extreme hair loss, this was confirmed by the result of a biopsy taken by a dermatologist. Two months ago I stopped taking it and since then I've gone down from losing 400 hairs to 40 hairs a day. I will never take this pill...

Emergency Contraceptive Consilient

levonorgestrel (1,5mg) for contraception / birth control

After all the horror stories on this site, I started worrying. I took the pill within 12 hours of unprotected sex (1 day before ovulation). I was worried about the efficacy of the pill but my period started on time. You know that there are going to be side effects, but that's why this is an emergency solution.

ethinylestradiol, etonogestrel (2,7/11,7mg) for contraception / birth control

Apart from the price of this (about €13 a month) I've been really happy with this for 5 years! No side effects, few checks.

Mirena

levonorgestrel (52mg) for contraception / birth control

Insertion is everything but pleasant but it's nothing compared to actually giving birth. I had a few period-like pains on the day it was inserted but other than that, nothing.

medroxyprogesterone acetate (150mg/ml) for contraception / birth control

On 22 June I had my first injection. After 28 days I started to bleed, and that was 16 days ago. According to the GP this is normal and can last up to 3 months. I'm now wondering if I really want to have the second injection, which you're supposed to have after 8 weeks. Before this, my periods were once a month, for 7 days, heavy. I tried this because it can sometimes stop you from bleeding alt...

Ethinylestradiol - Levonorgestrel

ethinylestradiol/levonorgestrel (30/125ug) for contraception / birth control

Since I started taking these I've been really struggling with panic attacks, but I didn't make the connection at first. Then I spoke to someone, stopped taking these and the panic attacks disappeared as well. So now I'm looking for an alternative, has any one got any ideas? I don't want a coil, though.

Ethinylestradiol - Levonorgestrel

31/07/2017 | | 20moderated by Susan
ethinylestradiol/levonorgestrel (0,03/0,15 mg) for contraception / birth control

I've been using these pills for 5 years and I've always had these problems but I didn't know they were from using the pill. I'm almost always moody, I never want to do anything, don't have any sexual desire. I've often got a headache and I'm basically always tired. I'm going to the GP this week to see if there's another pill I can try.

medroxyprogesterone acetate (150mg/ml) for contraception / birth control

After I had the first injection, I bled a lot, with the odd day or two of not bleeding. After the 2nd injection I hoped that things would get better. But now I'm bleeding all the time, it's now been about 6 or 7 weeks since, and it hurts and I'm dizzy. I'm definitely not having this again.

Cerazette

desogestrel (0,075mg) for contraception / birth control

Because I simply cannot handle external hormones, my doctor prescribed me the mini pill. It's supposed to contain fewer hormones and so cause me fewer problems. To start off with it went pretty well, but then after a week I got my period and it lasted for about 3 weeks, even though I had started taking the pill whilst I was still bleeding. On top of that I have noticed depressive moods and inte...
